Sports Nutrition
Sports nutrition is a hot topic in some circles these days. More often than not this area becomes the testing ground for what becomes a more ‘main stream’ nutrition product down the road. The one thing that can be said for the folks that are into sports nutrition is that they, for the most part are not afraid of trying anything. However, this can be a double edged sword. Most of the time body builders and other sports enthusiasts are searching for the 'holy grail' that will increase performance and size.

Right now, as of this moment....there isn't any such thing. Yes, there are products being sold into the market that are beneficial and will help you to perform better and gain muscle…to a degree. But they are hardly the Holy Grail.

Here is the reality check. Most of the hard core fanatics will choose to ignore this advice because they would rather read an advertisement that makes them false promises, than to read this and take advice from someone that has NO vested interest in selling them anything, and only wants to ensure they get the best products and information available.

If you walk away with anything after reading this piece, it would be that you can not trust anyone’s opinion. What you read, and the advice you get with regards to sports nutrition products needs to come from a reputable source, and should be based on solid peer reviewed research. You have to remember that much of what is printed in the magazines is marketing hype, written by someone who isn't qualified to even discuss the material, or that has been hired by someone that does have a financial interest in using the article to sell products.

We will try to weed through the mire of information that you are reading, and address each issue and product, one at a time. Please do not get discouraged with anything that is written above, there are some great products being sold and yes, if you are an athlete you do need to take supplements to enhance performance. It is just a matter of what to take and when, you should care about quality because ultimately it will define who you are, and what benefits you will receive after taking these kinds of products.
