How can this be ?

At Healthspan, we are committed to ensuring the effectiveness of the medications we prescribe. This commitment extends to addressing the challenges of bioavailability, which can notably impact the usage and efficiency of certain drugs, including rapamycin. To tackle this, we employ a robust testing program to select the formulations and brands of rapamycin that offer the best absorption levels.

Bioavailability is a key pharmacokinetic parameter that quantifies the percentage of the administered drug dose that successfully reaches systemic circulation and becomes available to exert its therapeutic effect. It’s a measure of the rate and extent of a drug’s absorption.

In assessing the bioavailability of our medications, we measure two critical pharmacokinetic parameters: Cmax and Tmax.

Cmax, or ‘maximum concentration,’ signifies the highest concentration a drug achieves in the body following administration and prior to the introduction of a second dose.

Tmax, or ‘time to maximum concentration,’ denotes the duration it takes for a drug to reach its Cmax post-administration, providing a measure of the drug’s absorption rate.

We believe in personalized care and thus, offer our patients the option to test their individual rapamycin levels. This enables us to understand each patient’s unique absorption profile of the medication, taking into account the variability of their biology. This approach ensures that our patients receive the most effective therapeutic regimen tailored to their individual needs.

How does it work ?

Upon thorough medical review and screening, should you be deemed suitable for the Healthspan Rapamycin Protocol, your administration of Rapamycin will occur just once a week. For instance, should your current weekly dosage be 5mg, and you’re given 1mg pills, you’ll consume all five pills on a single day, as opposed to distributing them over the week. You’ll then rest until the next week.

The reason for this methodology stems from the cyclical nature of the benefits Rapamycin offers for anti-aging. Unlike transplant patients who take Rapamycin daily, the longevity benefits are drawn from the intermittent inhibition of mTOR. The therapeutic benefit of Rapamycin is derived from pulsated inhibition of mTOR, avoiding continuous inhibition. This approach prevents bloodstream concentrations of rapamycin that could inhibit mTOR-Complex 2, leading to immune suppression, which we aim to evade.

By adhering to a weekly dosage, adjusted according to your unique biomarkers and phenotype, we sidestep the immunosuppressive side effects of Rapamycin. We strive to administer Rapamycin in a manner that leverages the mTOR inhibitory benefits, such as stimulating autophagy, in cycles, and then returning to baseline mTOR activity.

What if I need help ?

At Healthspan, we harness the power of advanced technology and your unique biomarkers to craft a tailored Rapamycin dosage plan just for you. Typically, we initiate a patient’s treatment with a weekly dose of 3mg, carefully escalating this over time to reach the optimum dosage, which generally lies between 5 to 8mg per week. Please note, the provision of medication is strictly contingent upon a comprehensive medical review and initial screening process.

What if I don't want to sed that type of payment ?

The risk of cancer is related to daily dosing for transplant patients, whereas our approach involves intermittent dosing every 7 days to avoid immune suppression. This distinction has varying implications for cancer. Rapamycin inhibits mTOR, exhibiting anti-cancer properties by preventing cell proliferation and inflammatory conditions conducive to cancer. Daily dosing may suppress the immune system, while our low-dose cyclical dosing enhances immune function, potentially contributing to rapamycin’s anti-cancer benefits.
